What exactly is a Lunar Eclipse?

Did you get to see the Super Moon Lunar Eclipse last night?  It was definitely a sight to see, and you won’t see it again for another 33 years!  In case you weren’t sure how a lunar eclipse occurs, here is a great video from Khan Academy that will take you through the states step-by-step.


Lunar eclipse: When the moon passes through the Earth’s shadow, it causes the moon to look very unusual for a short period of time. This event is called a lunar eclipse, and it occurs roughly twice a year.
