iPad Projection

Just wanted to update that I purchased the VGA converter this weekend and officially tested it out today after school…success!  The apps could be viewed clearly, so now more students can benefit from the quick reinforcement drills, visuals, etc.  I’m also looking forward to continuing our read along of The Hunger Games. Tomorrow it will be projected up onto the smartboard.  My student David is going to be so excited when he sees his request become a reality (read my previous post about his idea here).  Now I know the converter is a little pricey but thinking about its possible impact & expanded delivery to my class made it worth it.  I’m sure it could be found on Amazon or Ebay at a cheaper price….but I have to say I didn’t want to wait for it to be shipped so to the Apple store I went.  My next step is to find a splitter so that I can easily switch from the desktop computer to the iPad w/out having to change out the VGA cord.  Another downside is that unless you have a very long cord from your smartboard, your iPad will need to be fairly stationary…I luckily have a long cord.  If anyone is thinking about doing this in your classroom and need some assistance let me know and I can walk you through it.  It’s pretty cool =)
