Bodies Exhibition-NYC

Yesterday I had the opportunity to chaperone the 8th grade Honors Biology class to the Bodies Exhibition at Fulton Market in NYC.  This was the first time I was able to go and it was quite an experience!  The students were introduced to the process that was used to preserve the bodies (all of the moisture is drained from the body & replaced with a rubberized material).  It was wonderful how each part of the exhibit built onto eachother starting with bone structure to help the students visualize just how amazing and complicated the human body is.  Students were able to observe various ailments such as lung cancer, stroke, & heart disease along with the greatest miracle of life…fetal development.  Below are some images from the web (no photography is allowed at the exhibit) to give you an idea of what to expect when you visit.
